Black Veil Brides

If, like me, any of you are a Motley Crue in a sea of Maroon 5's then Black Veil Brides are a band you must check out live.
The Ohio band are one of the last bastions of the over the top hair metal madness of the 80s both in sugar sweet choruses which demand foot stomping and sing-a-longs, and also the 'look' - studded belts, endless miles of leather, space age guitars, and more hair spray than a dozen Asda's.
BVB will be plugging in and blasting out over the Donington Park crowd at this summer's Download Festival from the main stage on Sunday, June 10, on the same day and stage as Marilyn Manson and Ozzy Osbourne.
But Black Veil Brides are so much more than just a look or a throwback. They have the songs, the chops and the riffs to back up their image.
Choruses to rival KISS in their pomp, the kind of anthems which can make all in attendance take their partner by the hips and swing them around in circles while grinning and swinging their hair back and forth.
They have had the unfair tag of gimmick band by some rock snobs but they are so much more than that and their live show is exceptional and I wouldn't miss them at Download for the world.
They are hypnotic and tight live, they have songs to make you smile and pump your fist in the air and they are the closest thing now to the strip-era greats like Motley Crue who have long since hung up their hairspray.
