Sorum reveals reason for reunion absence

Matt Sorum says there is one main reason he isn’t part of the Guns N’ Roses reunion – he wasn’t asked.
While Duff McKagan and Slash have healed old rifts and rejoined Axl Rose in the band, neither Sorum, nor Appetite-era drummer Steven Adler have been involved.
And Sorum reveals on Twitter he was never approached about a stint in the group.
“No sir, they didn’t ask me,” replies Sorum when asked by a fan regarding his non-involvement.
Joining Slash, Duff and Axl at the early shows has been keyboardist Dizzy Reed, guitarist Richard Fortus and drummer Frank Ferrer. Also appearing with them was second keyboardist Melissa Reese.
After taking over on the sticks from Adler, Sorum went on to record the mega-hit ‘Use Your Illusion’ records while also touring the world with the band.
Guns N’ Roses have a pair of confirmed live shows in Mexico City to come alongside back-to-back weekends headlining the Coachella Festival. A full North American tour is also pencilled in for the summer.
